Excuses, excuses, excuses! Part 1

Have you ever took notice of the excuses people give for not believing the Bible and not becoming a Christian? Here are some excuses people give with biblical answers. These verses would be good to memorize for evangelism. There are a lot of excuses so I will have to put this in two parts.

Excuse: God is too good to damn anyone.
Psalm 1:5-6 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, 
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For The Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.

Excuse: I am an atheist.
Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God."
They are corrupt, they have committed abdominal deeds;
There is no one who does good.

Excuse: too much to give up.
Psalm 16:11 you will make known to me the path of life;
In your presence is fullness of joy;
In your right hand there are pleasures forever.

Psalm 84:11 For The Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord gives grace and glory;
No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
And all these things will be added to you."

Excuse: I am my own boss.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man,
But it's end is the way of death.

Excuse: I will wait until later
Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow, 
For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Excuse: Not now
Proverbs 29:1 a man who hardens his neck after much reproof
Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy. 

Isaiah 55:6 Seek The Lord while he may be found;
Call upon him while he is near.

Excuse: I fear others
Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare,
But he who trusts in The Lord will be Exaulted.

Excuse: I want my fun now
Ecclesiastes 11:9 Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desire of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgement for all these things.

Excuse: I am too great a sinner
Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means:
'I desire compassion, and not a sacrifice' for I did not come
to call the righteous, but sinners.

Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together." , says The Lord. 
"Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool."

Excuse: I am trying to be a Christian (trust not try)
Isaiah 12:2 "Behold, God is my salvation, 
I will trust and not be afraid;
For The Lord God is my strength and song,
He has become my salvation." 

Isaiah 64:6 For all of us have become like one who is unclean,
And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
And all of us wither like a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Excuse: I am so weak
Isaiah 26: 3-4 "The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, 
Because he trusts in You.
Trust in The Lord forever,
For in God The Lord, we have an everlasting Rock."

Isaiah 41:10 "Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, 
Surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." 

Isaiah 41:13-14 "For I am The Lord your God, who upholds your right hand,
Who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'
Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Isreal;
I will help you," declares The Lord, "and your redeemer is the Holy One of Israel."

Excuse: There is no God.
Isaiah 43:10-11 "You are my witnesses," declares the Lord,
"And my servant whom I have chosen,
So that you may know and believe me
And understand that I am he.
Before me was no God formed,
And there will be none after me."
"I, even I, am the Lord,
And there is no savior besides me."

Excuse: my sins are so small so why worry
Isaiah 48:22 "There is no peace for the wicked." Says The Lord.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you
and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.

Excuse: It doesn't sound reasonable
Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways," declares The Lord.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Excuse: Don't talk to me about it
Jeremiah 1:17 "Now, gird up your loins and arise,
And speak to them all which I command you.
Do not be dismayed before them, or I will
dismay you before them.

Excuse: I am religious
 Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not
prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name
perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you.
depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Excuse: People would laugh at me
Matthew 10:32 Therefore everyone who confesses me before men,
I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.
But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him
before my Father who is in heaven.

Excuse: I want to be neutral
Matthew 12:30 He who is not with me is against me;
and he who does not gather with me, scatters.

Excuse: My friends mean so much to me
Matthew 19:29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or
sisters or father or mother or children or farms for my Name's sake,
will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.

Excuse: I will take my chances
Matthew 22:12 And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here
without wedding clothes?' And the man was speechless. Then the King
said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him
into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.'
